Care / evaluation
The first visit is an assessment.
Choosing a medicine beforehand is not required for your appointment. Bring what you want help with, what you already take, and the questions that matter to you.

Can a form count as a visit?
As of September 2026, medical board guidance allowed live online visits or visits reviewed later. Either kind must allow the clinician to assess your health properly.
State rules differ, so that guidance is not permission for every service to prescribe from a form everywhere.
The guidance rejects treatment based only on fixed questions that fail to gather enough health information. It calls for the ability to ask follow-up questions.
Evidence AWhat can I prepare?
Make a list of medicines and supplements you take. Note allergies, past health problems and the reason you are seeking care.
The official medicine instructions for semaglutide and tirzepatide list health issues to discuss before treatment. These include thyroid cancer history, stomach problems, pancreas or gallbladder trouble, pregnancy plans and upcoming surgery.
Say when an answer is uncertain. Ask whether a record from another clinician would help explain it.
Evidence BWhat if the screen is not enough?
Medical board guidance says a needed physical exam or test must be arranged, completed or referred to another clinician.
Ask where that would happen and who will receive the result. Ask whether it changes the fee or the next step.
Before the visit ends, repeat the plan in your own words. Point out any part that still feels unclear.
